Elephant Reef takes its name from a natural rock formation resembling an elephant, right next to where the boat moors. The dive centers around a circular plateau, with its top at roughly 18 meters. Advanced divers can explore the surrounding cliff that descends from the plateau, while Open Water divers can enjoy the dive safely at the top edge.
The site is teeming with life, particularly large groupers that patrol the plateau and nearby walls. Towards the end of the dive, divers can explore a series of small holes and caves formed by fallen boulders at 15–16 meters. Interestingly, the wall surrounding the plateau is shaped like an elephant’s hoof, giving the dive its playful name and a unique natural landmark to navigate.
Elephant Reef combines dramatic underwater topography, abundant marine life, and a touch of natural whimsy, making it a memorable dive for both beginners and advanced divers alike.
