Barracuda Reef is a site full of variety, where beginners and experienced divers alike can enjoy the beauty of the Mediterranean. The sheltered bay is ideal for snorkelers and Discover Scuba Divers, with calm waters and plenty of life to see — from colorful reef fish to the occasional quirky nudibranch hiding among the rocks.
For certified divers, the adventure continues beyond the bay. Starting at about 8 meters, the seabed slopes gently to around 14 meters, before a small drop-off leads down to 18. Here, the dive settles into an average depth of 15 meters, circling a large rocky outcrop that rises all the way to the surface. This “underwater hill” is the heart of the site, a striking formation that divers can explore from every angle.
Because boat traffic passes near the rock, it is reserved only for certified divers, while snorkelers and beginners stay safely within the bay where the conditions are calm and clear. On the way back, a light current sometimes drifts through the area, and it is here that the reef reveals its biggest surprises: schools of sleek Mediterranean barracuda hunting in the current, and massive groupers — some over a meter long — gliding gracefully among the rocks.
